MULTI-VALVE TECHNOLOGY (U.K.)

- 3-Piece Bolted Ball Valves and Single & Double Block & Bleed Ball Valves

Ball Valves from Multi-Valve Technology

o MVT offers you a complete range of Bi-Directional Ball Valves, fully field repairable, ranging from ½" to 24" and encompassing all pressure class.

o These Valves are manufactured at their two modern 1,4000 sq.m factories in France. Both factories are independently ISO 9001 Certified.

o All Valves are manufactured on 'State-of-the-art' CNC Machines.

o Emphasis has been given not just to an overall 'Robust Valve Design' but to a reliable, low friction seating arrangement, to ensure continuous bubble tight sealing and ease of operation of these valves in the field.

o Special attention has also been given to Valve standardisation and of part interchange-ability, so minimum spare parts can be held for a cross section of their Valves.

o MVT (U.K.) Trunnion Mounted Valves are all suitable for 'Double Block & Bleed' service, being fitted with a body Bleed Valve in the body cavity.

o All Valves are designed to API 6D or API 6A (where applicable) and also ANSI B16 34.

o MVT (U.K.) standard Valve is offered with materials to suit the NACE Publication MR-01-75 latest revision and again as a standard Fire-safe to BS 6755 PT2.

VALVE FEATURES & OPTIONS:

Design Types - MVT End Entry Ball Valves are offered in two basic configurations, Trunnion Mounted and Floating Ball.

Floating Ball Valves - support the Ball by the seats along allowing the ball to 'Float' between fixed seats. This is suitable only for small bore or low pressure Valves where the weight of the ball is not excessive.

Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves - are used for larger bores & pressure classes. They support the ball on a fixed vertical axis, with the seats being spring loaded. By the nature of the design Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves will lead to reduced Valve Break Torques.

The Dimensional Data included, indicates MVT (U.K.) standard practice. MVT (U.K.) are able to offer Trunnion Mounted on the majority of Valves listed as Floating Ball. Both types are of Bolted Construction.

PISTON ACTION SEATS: Spring loaded Seat Holders used on Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves ensure the seat is constantly in contact with the ball and that an effective seal is realised from Low to High Pressure. Whilst the springs guarantee the seats are kept tightly in contact with the ball at low pressure, as the pressure rises a pressure force is applied behind the seat at seal diameter 'D'. As this diameter exceeds the contact diameter 'C', the resulting piston effect forces the seat firmly onto the ball ensuring a tight seal.

FIRE-SAFE: Valves are Certified in accordance with BS6755 PT2.

VALVE CAVITY PRESSURE RELIEF: In the event of a build up in cavity pressure the Piston Action Seats are designed such that the downstream seat will retract allowing the pressure to equalise.

In Floating Ball types Valves the pressure will equalise to the upstream side.

OPERATION: Dimensional data indicates MVT standard methods of operation. MVT can however offer Gearboxes or Actuators to suit most of their Valve sizes. All Valves have 90 degree operation with visual open / close indicator. All Mounting Flanges are supplied to ISO standard unless otherwise requested.

BLOCK & BLEED: All MVT Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves are suitable for Block & Bleed Service.

SEALS: MVT Standard range uses Elastomer O-Rings with Grafoil back up and plastic seats. If you have a specific line medium or temperature range to meet, please contact us.

OPTIONS

ANTI-EXPLOSIVE DECOMPRESSION: MVT have a wide variety of Elastomers available to suit various line mediums and temperature ranges. Many can be offered as Anti-Explosive Decompression.

BLOWDOWN: MVT Ball Valves can be simply modified to include additional PTFE Seals to make the Valve suitable for Blowdown operation.

CRYOGENIC: Valves can be supplied with additional PTFE Poly-seals, lip-seals and stem extensions to meet your requirements.

DESIGN APPROVAL: MVT offer a calculation and Design Approval service which allows you to specify verification by your choice of Certifying body, e.g. DNV or Lloyds. Otherwise calculation packages can be prepared to your requirements for internal review.

ESDV: MVT Valves can be designed specifically to meet Emergency Shutdown requirements.

HIGH TEMPERATURE: MVT can supply High Temperature Valves which included metal-to-metal seats, grafoil sealing, and stem extensions.

LIFTING LUGS: As standard, Valves weighting over 500 Kg will be supplied with Lifting Lugs. Other Valves can be fitted with lifting lugs on request.

LIPSEALS: PTFE based spring activated Lipseals can be offered to your requirements e.g. Stem only, Full Lipseal, or anything in between.

LOCKING FACILITY: All Valves can be supplied with Locking Mechanisms if specified.

METAL SEALS: MVT can offer metal C Seals at body joints if required.

METAL SEATED: Valves can be supplied metal seated. For small bore Valve solid stellite Balls are used, for larger bore Valves, Ball are welded overlaid and machined and polished to provide a perfect seat to ball contact.

NON STANDARD BORE: MVT can offer bores to suit your requirements.

PED: MVT have been active in ensuring our Valves will be in conformance with the Pipeline Equipment Directive. This has been done via continuous consultation with Lloyds.

PRODUCT STANDARDISATION: Whilst striving to build the best Valve possible, MVT do however also concentrate on interchangeability between various sizes of Valves. This helps to minimise spares stock required and is of benefit to us, the manufacturer and to you the client.

SEALANT INJECTION: Valves can be modified to include stem lubrication or seat sealant injection.

STEM EXTENSION: These can be supplied pressure, or non-pressure retaining to meet your requirements, be it Cryogenic, High Temperature or Buried Service.

SUBSEA: MVT can offer all Valves modified for Subsea Operation. Operators can be supplied to be suitable for ROV Operation.

TESTING: MVT can offer a wide variety of testing, both internally and by external bodies (if required). This could include extended gas testing, Cryogenic testing or Hyperbaric testing, for example.

TRUNNION MOUNTING: MVT can Trunnion Mount all sizes and pressure classes of Ball Valve, if required.

WELD OVERLAY: Weld overlay can be offered to meet your requirements e.g. Seat Pockets, Stem Bore, all Wetted areas etc., in a wide variety of Stainless Steels and high Nickel Alloys.

VENT / DRAIN: Vent & drain plugs are fitted as standard on larger MVT Ball Valves. MVT can however, machine your requested configuration to include safety type or Flanged type for example.
